LexProxy Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 23, 2026 · Version: 2026-10-23

This policy explains what information LexProxy, LLC (formerly Appear For Me LLC) ("LexProxy," "we," "us") collects through lexproxy.com and the LexProxy service (the "Service"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have. LexProxy is for Georgia-licensed attorneys; it is not intended for clients or the public, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account and profile: your name, email address, password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form by our authentication provider), phone number, Georgia Bar number, years in practice, city, a short biography, firm name and website, and whether you post work, cover work, or both.
  • Invite requests and invite links: if you ask for an invitation, your name, email address, county, what you're looking for, and anything optional you add (Georgia Bar number, firm and a note). If you accept an invitation through a member's personal invite link, your name, email address, Georgia Bar number and (if you add it) mobile phone number, and which member's link you used; that member is told your name so they know you joined. We use this only to review requests, send your invitation and set up your account.
  • Attorneys we invite: to invite Georgia attorneys personally, we keep professional contact information our founder already has for them (name, firm, county, phone number and email address) and notes on our outreach. We use it only to invite them to LexProxy and, if they join, to fill in their sign-up; we delete it on request (email support@lexproxy.com).
  • Text messages (optional): if you check "Text me job alerts and hearing reminders," your mobile number, when you agreed, the wording you agreed to, and when you opt out (including by replying STOP). See section 8.
  • Verification: what we record when checking your Georgia Bar standing, such as its status, the date checked and our notes.
  • Identity check: when you sign up we may ask for a photo of your Bar card and an identity check through Stripe, using a photo of your government ID and a live selfie. Stripe compares the selfie with the ID photo and tells us whether they match and the name on the ID. Stripe keeps the ID and selfie images under its own privacy policy; LexProxy never receives them. We keep the Bar card photo, what it shows (name, Bar number and state), the name on your ID and the result.
  • Practice calendar (optional): if you connect your calendar's private link, we read it when you open your dashboard, when you offer to cover a posting, and once a week to email you next week's double-bookings, to show you your upcoming court dates, flag ones that overlap in different places, help you post coverage, and, if you cover work, point out open postings at courthouses you'll already be at. When you offer to cover a posting, we check your calendar at that moment to see whether you're already at that courthouse that morning; we use it only to let you offer the same-courthouse rate, and we store only whether your offer was a same-courthouse offer, never the calendar entry. Your calendar is used only for you: no one else sees where you'll be, except that if you choose to make a same-courthouse offer, the posting attorney sees that you'll be at that courthouse that morning. We don't store your calendar's contents. The weekly email lists only the date, time and courthouses of each double-booking, never case names or numbers, and you can turn it off in Settings. We keep the link (so we can read it for you), when we last read it, and a coded fingerprint of each event you post or hide, so we don't suggest it again. When you start a posting from a court date, we fill in details we find in that calendar entry (such as the case number, judge or courtroom) for you to check, only in the posting's confidential steps. Nothing from your calendar goes into a posting unless you post it. You can disconnect it in Settings at any time, which deletes the link and those fingerprints.
  • Clio (optional): if you connect your Clio account, LexProxy gets read-only access to your Clio calendar and your matters and their contacts. We use it the way we use a practice calendar (to show your court dates, flag double-bookings and point out work at courthouses you'll already be at) and, when you start a posting from a Clio court date, to fill in that hearing's details, such as the court, date, time, case number, case caption and client name, for you to check, only in the posting's confidential steps. We never change anything in Clio, and we don't store your Clio data: we keep only the encrypted connection keys Clio gives us. Nothing from Clio goes into a posting unless you post it. Disconnecting Clio in Settings, or removing LexProxy in Clio, deletes those keys.
  • Build My Practice: the courts, case types, kinds of work, days, minimum fee and travel distance you choose, and, if you give it, an office address. To measure travel distance, that address is sent to the U.S. Census Bureau's address geocoder, which returns map coordinates.
  • Postings: court, date, fee and a general description (visible to verified attorneys); and, kept confidential, the client name, adverse parties and other names for a conflict check, the case caption and number, the judge, courtroom, contact details, instructions and documents you upload.
  • Work records: offers, conflict confirmations (including which version of the wording you agreed to), check-in and check-out times, outcome reports, deliveries, AI-use disclosures, change requests, reschedules, cancellations, no-show reports, disputes, offers and messages, and reviews.
  • Location at check-in (optional): if you choose to share it, your device's location is recorded once when you check in or check out, and shown to the hiring firm as proof you were at or near the courthouse. It is never tracked otherwise, and never requested for virtual hearings.
  • Payments: Stripe processes all payments. For firms we keep the amounts, status, and a description of the payment method (for example, "Visa credit card ending 4242, expires 12/30"). For covering attorneys, Stripe collects identity, bank and tax details directly; we keep only your Stripe account ID and whether payouts are set up. We never receive full card numbers, bank account numbers or Social Security numbers.

Information collected automatically

  • Sign-in cookies that keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
  • A small browser setting that remembers when you choose "Remind me later" on an alert, for that sign-in only.
  • Technical logs from our hosting providers, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and errors, used for security and to keep the Service running.
  • How you use LexProxy: we record which LexProxy pages and buttons members use, to improve the service; this stays on LexProxy's systems, isn't shared, and is deleted after 13 months.

2. Information other attorneys give us about clients and others

Postings contain information about posting attorneys' clients and other people in their cases. The posting attorney decides what to provide and is responsible for having the right to share it under the Rules of Professional Conduct. We use that information only to run the Service for the attorneys involved. We do not contact clients or use their information for any other purpose.

3. How we use information

  • to run the Service: show Postings, match work to Build My Practice preferences, process offers, selections, payments, payouts, refunds and credits, and keep each step's records;
  • to verify Georgia Bar standing and keep the marketplace limited to verified attorneys;
  • to confirm that each member is the attorney they say they are, and to prevent impersonation and duplicate accounts;
  • to show you your own court dates and help you post coverage for them, and to let you offer a same-courthouse rate if you choose, if you connect your calendar;
  • to send emails and in-app notifications about your account, your work, payments and disputes, and about matching work if you asked for it, and text messages if you opted in to them;
  • to show track records and reviews, and to review reliability issues (such as late withdrawals or no-shows) and disputes;
  • to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and misuse, and fix problems;
  • to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations and to enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or use client information from Postings to train artificial intelligence models.

4. Who sees your information

Other attorneys on LexProxy

  • Verified attorneys see the public part of Postings (court, date, type of work, fee and general description), but not who posted them until they are selected and have cleared conflicts.
  • Posting attorneys see the profile, track record and reviews of attorneys who offer to do their Postings, and whether an offer is a same-courthouse offer, to choose who does the work. You choose in your profile whether any other verified attorney can also see yours.
  • After selection, the covering attorney sees the conflict-check names. They see the confidential case details only after confirming they have no conflict. The hiring firm sees the covering attorney's check-in times, any shared location, and their outcome report or delivery.

Service providers that process information for us under contracts:

  • Supabase: database, file storage and sign-in
  • Vercel: website hosting
  • Stripe: payments, payouts, identity checks and tax forms (under Stripe's privacy policy)
  • Resend: email delivery
  • Twilio: text message delivery, if you opt in to texts
  • Anthropic: reads the name, Bar number and state from Bar card photos. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
  • U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder: office address lookup, if you give an office address

If you click "View on Google Maps," Google receives the court's address under Google's own privacy policy. LexProxy does not send Google any information about you.

Calendar links: if you add your private LexProxy calendar link to Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar, that calendar provider receives the entries: court, time, address and a link to LexProxy. Entries never include client names, case numbers or instructions. Anyone with the link can see them, so you can reset it in Settings.

Legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information when the law requires it, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order; to respond to a disciplinary authority's lawful request; to protect the rights, safety or property of LexProxy, our users or others; or in connection with a merger, sale or transfer of our business, subject to this policy.

5. How long we keep information

We keep account, Posting, payment and work records while your account is open and for 7 years afterward, for tax, accounting and dispute purposes and because attorneys may need the records for their own obligations. Documents uploaded to a Posting are deleted automatically one year after the work is completed or cancelled (or, if no one was selected, one year after the Posting's date); we remind the posting attorney 30 days before so they can download anything they need for their file. Bar card photos are deleted 30 days after we decide your Bar standing; the result of the check and the names and number read from it are kept with your verification record. We may keep information longer when the law requires it or while a dispute is open.

6. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls so each attorney can see only what the Service allows, short-lived links for document downloads, and providers with strong security programs. No system is perfectly secure, and you are responsible for keeping your password safe.

7. Your choices

  • Profile visibility: choose in your profile whether verified attorneys you haven't worked with can see it.
  • Emails: turn off optional notification emails in Settings, and change or turn off work alerts in Build My Practice.
  • Text messages: texts are off unless you turn them on. Reply STOP to any LexProxy text, or uncheck the box in Settings, to stop them.
  • Location: leave "share my location" unchecked at check-in.
  • Calendar link: reset it in Settings at any time.
  • Access, correction and deletion: you can update most information in your profile and settings. To get a copy of your information, or to ask us to delete your account, email support@lexproxy.com. Some records must be kept as described in section 5, including records other attorneys rely on.

8. Text messages

LexProxy sends text messages only to members who check "Text me job alerts and hearing reminders" in Settings or at sign-up and give a U.S. mobile number. The box is never checked for you, and agreeing to texts is not a condition of using LexProxy.

  • What we text: new postings that match your Build My Practice preferences, reminders before hearings you're covering or have posted, and updates on your appearances (for example, when you're selected or a report is in). We don't send marketing texts.
  • How often: message frequency varies with your activity and preferences. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Stopping texts: reply STOP to any LexProxy text, or uncheck the box in Settings. We'll confirm once and send no more texts to that number until you opt in again or reply START. Reply HELP for help, or email support@lexproxy.com.
  • What we keep: your mobile number, when and how you opted in or out, and the wording you agreed to, as a record of your consent. Texts are delivered by Twilio, which receives your number and the message only to deliver it.
  • No sharing for marketing: LexProxy does not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or your text message opt-in and consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile numbers and consent are shared only with the service provider that delivers our texts.

Texts never include client names, case numbers or confidential case details. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. More details: lexproxy.com/texting.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version with a new effective date and notify you of material changes by email or in the Service.
